The most important work for me within the portfolio is the orange foam prosthetic design that I completed over the summer of 2015. This project is one of the most significant that I have ever done because of its implications in both my personal growth, and its possible real life applications. Many modern prosthetic designs lack individualization and personal styles, however with technology like 3D printing becoming ever more prevalent, customization may play a larger role in the future. This project became an act of self-reflection as I created the hand, a time to reflect on the fact that I may never be able to complete the art that I do if I was rendered disabled through an accident or injury.
